St Martin and St Mary Church of England Primary School

Year 3

Autumn Term

Year 3 is led by Gareth Hodgson, Jane Williamson and Helen Whitehead and supported by Sarah Clarke, Cathy Noble and Carole Quill.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Year 3 for a fun packed Autumn Term.

In Geography we will be studying our local area, planning and enjoying a field work investigation through our village. Later on in the term, in History we shall be learning all about Romans in Britain and visiting Tullie House museum and gallery in Carlisle where we will explore exhibits, dress up in Roman costumes and handle some genuine Roman artefacts!

Our first Outdoor Education trip of the academic year will be learning the skills of map reading and orienteering within our locality.

Included in all of this excitement, we continue our learning in school by exploring the four operations used in Mathematics; writing recounts, diaries, information texts and stories in English; and learning all about nutrition, the skeleton and different forces in our Science lessons.

As the Autumn term comes to an end we shall be performing Christmas songs for our local community at various Christmas events.

Wow – so much to look forward too!
